AMS Annual Fall Potluck

When: Saturday November 7, 2026 at 11am - 2pm

Where: Riverfront Park, Cottonwood, AZ, 1284 E River Front Rd, Cottonwood, AZ 86326

We will be located under the ramadas on the northeast side of the baseball fields. You may need to park near the fields and walk to the ramadas.

What: Get to know your fellow AMS members! Eat delicious foods and learn about local truffles from special guest and truffle expert, Heather Dawson! After eating, Heather will be doing an informal truffle "show and tell" to share with us about local underground fungi that she and her dogs recently discovered in the area.

Heather and her dogs are coming all the way down from Oregon to share this special learning opportunity with us!

How: No registration needed... just show up!

------ Potluck Plans -------

Please bring your dish so it is ready and set-up to dig in at noon. We will have limited power to plug in, so it is best if electricity is not needed for your serving dish.

If you can, please bring a dish to share at the potluck according to the following assignment:

If your last name begins with letter A-H, please bring a dessert or sweet treat, if I-P please bring a main dish or salad, if Q-Z please bring a salad or side dish.

It is helpful to make a print-out or write a small index card talking about your dish!

AMS will provide plastic utensils, paper plates, cups, water, water, etc.!

Please bring the proper utensil with which to serve your dish.

If you bring a dish containing wild-picked mushrooms, you should note that sharing of mushrooms between members is at the sole risk of the individuals involved, and should comply with the Society's safety guidelines.

------ Directions for Getting To Riverfront Park -------

To get to Riverfront Park, you want to turn north on N 10th St, from Main Street in Cottonwood, AZ. From there, turn right onto East River Front Rd. If you follow the road as it turns slightly to the left it ends at the Riverfront Park parking lot. Parking areas are denoted with a red P and the ramadas are pointed out in the picture below with red arrows.

There is a softball tournament planned at the same time as the potluck, so parking in the Riverfront Park parking lot may be limited. There is ample parking for the baseball fields directly to your left as you enter on East River Front Rd. Park here and walk to the ramadas as indicated by the red arrows, above.
