Any update about a wine and mushroom party at Javelina Leap Winery?

We were never quite able to get this going. The morel season looked like it was not going to happen at all until mid-April, and even after that it was a bit too ephemeral to plan our event around.
Instead, I propose we do the tasting in June or early July, before the summer mushroom season gets going. I think it would be especially fun to combine a member meet-up and wine tasting with huitlacoche tacos and tamales. This species of "corn smut" (a.k.a. Mexican truffles, Ustilago maydis) is a real delicacy south of the border, and we have a source where we can get it frozen:
It can also be had in cans, but this is said not to be nearly as tasty as fresh or frozen.
Those of you on the Culinary Committee who want to see this happen, get in touch with Susanna and let's make it fly. Would be a real hoot I think, and a good chance for members in the Verde Valley and Flagstaff area to get together.
