AMS Scientific Committee Chair Bill Warner will be repeating his talk entitled Mushrooming Arizona: Edible & Poisonous Mushrooms for Beginners on Thursday, July 19, at 7:00 PM

Like last year, this event will take place in the Arizona State University Biological Collections museum in the ASU Alameda Building, at 734 W. Alameda Drive, TempeParking is available immediately outdoors to the east of the building. The museum entrance is near the SE corner of the building. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

In anticipation of the August club forays, this lecture is intended primarily for novice mushroom hunters, those needing a refresher, those who wish to learn some fungal biology, and more experienced mushroomers who are new to Arizona and would like to see pictures of our local mushrooms. The talk will cover basic biology and mushrooming practices, and will cover a number of species easier for beginners to identify, as well as their potentially toxic look-alikes (if any).

Seating is limited to 50, so please sign up promptly. Member registration for this talk will open at 8:00 am on Thursday, July 12. Each member may bring a non-member guest. If the event does not fill, anyone will be allowed to register as a guest beginning Monday, July 16 at 8:00 am.
