Lots of folks have already seen former AMS Scientific Committee Chair Bill Warner's presentation, Mushrooming Arizona: Edible & Poisonous Mushrooms for Beginners, earlier this summer in Phoenix and Flagstaff. We're pleased to announce that he will soon be showing it in Tucson also, in cooperation with the Arizona Mushroom Growers Group.

(NOTE: An earlier version of this document erroneously stated that this presentation would be sponsored by the Arizona Mushroom Growers Association, which is a separate and unrelated organization.)

This event will take place in the Community Room at the Ward 6 City Council Building at 3202 E. 1st St. in TucsonDoors open at 6:30 PM. Bill's talk will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Attendees should come to the back of the building and enter through the back door. Should the door be shut, there is a door bell front and center on the door.

This lecture is intended primarily for novice mushroom hunters, those needing a refresher, those who wish to learn some fungal biology, and more experienced mushroomers who are new to Arizona and would like to see pictures of our local mushrooms. The talk will cover basic biology and mushrooming practices, and will cover a number of species easier for beginners to identify, as well as their potentially toxic look-alikes (if any).

*** UPDATE 8/29/2018: General Admission is now open and the number of available seats has been increased to 40. AMS members as well as the general public are now allowed to register.
