We're now accepting applications for this grant from graduate students in any fungal-related field at any of the Arizona public universities. (Forestry, ecology, microbiology, environmental engineering, plant science, etc.) 

The scholarship provides an unrestricted grant each year to one or more graduate student(s) at one of the three Arizona public universities who is undertaking research in mycology or a related field. Students of microbiology, plant science, plant pathology, forestry, botany, lichenology, environmental engineering, ecology, or any other similar field of study that has a connection to the Kingdom of Fungi are welcome to apply.  There is no other obligation, although we would be eager to have the recipient give a short presentation at one of our meetings or attend one of our forays to instruct us about their fungal-related specialty. The grant is now $1,500 per year. Members of under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

The purpose of the Dr. Chester Leathers Scholarship is to support graduate mycological or myco-related studies and promote the practice and understanding of mycological studies in Arizona.
