The 2025 monsoon was a big let down for those of us who love mushrooms, but recent rains and a forecast storm system in the coming days has provided an opportunity for one last foray before it gets too cold!
We will be hosting an Arizona Mushroom Society foray for you to join us to hike through the woods to look for and identify wild mushroom species. This is a great educational opportunity to find and learn about our local fungi. There is no charge for this event. It is available for Arizona Mushroom Society members to register until we reach capacity. Only registered members can participate.
Please only register if you are sure you can attend. Spaces are limited and cancellations often mean other people cannot attend.
Registrants can include one guest. Anyone over 15 Years of age should be registered. This event includes hiking on steep slopes, sometimes in areas with heavy downed logs and debris. Dogs may attend and must be well-behaved and on-leash during the entire event.
Wild mushroom forays are a valuable opportunity to learn about our local fungi, and while edibles may be found, please remember it is not the goal of the foray.
Those who successfully register will receive an email with where and when to meet up.
All participants should make sure they have at least a half tank of gas and have a vehicle equipped for forest roads with gravel and natural surfaces. All roads used during the foray will be accessible by standard, low-clearance vehicles.
